One model for deciding, building, and running AI work.

AIOS is a five-level framework created by Florian Krueger. It is designed for leadership and delivery teams that need AI decisions to be commercially clear, governable, and operationally reliable.

The full model in plain terms.

Level 1

Foundation

Define strategic intent, boundaries, and non-negotiables. Clarify what AI should improve, what it must not compromise, and who holds final authority.

Focus: Intent, boundary, authority.

Level 2

Architecture

Map how data, workflows, tools, and roles connect. This turns abstract ambition into a concrete operating design that teams can execute against.

Focus: Design, data, workflow.

Level 3

Governance

Set decision rights, controls, and review mechanisms so implementation remains trustworthy as systems scale and become more autonomous.

Focus: Control, risk, accountability.

Level 4

Implementation

Translate design into delivery plans, ownership, and sequencing. This level focuses on practical build order, dependencies, and adoption rhythm.

Focus: Roadmap, ownership, delivery.

Level 5

Operations

Run, measure, and improve the operating model in production. Keep learning loops tight so AI performance and business outcomes improve over time.

Focus: Metrics, review, iteration.

Use one level for a bottleneck, or all five as a full operating model.

Teams usually start with one urgent constraint: unclear ownership, weak decision flow, or poor execution follow-through. AIOS works in that focused mode. It also works as a complete model when a business is designing its AI operating approach end to end.

For book readers, this page is the central framework reference. Each chapter points to supporting destinations under Resources and For Investors.

Created by Florian Krueger

A framework built from delivery reality.

AIOS came from founder-led implementation work where teams needed clearer decision logic and stronger operating discipline. The same logic informs Fintery implementation projects and practical operating tools such as EarnRM and Alakai.
